Program Note
Composed for the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble, my Septet was written from May through July 1998 in
Bennington, Vermont and Aspen, Colorado. In one movement of three sections, it is at times playful,
at times humorous, at times delicate, before concluding in a wistful cadence.
