Program Note
The three Studies in Fixed Media were composed in September of 2001 as preliminary explorations in particular techniques of electronic music.
The first is based entirely on concrete sounds and uses the music of airplanes, wind and matches. The second
develops from an unnecessarily complicated MAX patch, and the third is based almost entirely on the sounds
generated from a studio recording of actor Brian Sgambati reciting the names of the fathers of Western Philosophy.
